The Type 161 was the brain child of automotive designer Howard Darrin as a competitive sports car to the Chevrolet Corvette. Its famous styling cues had never been seen before and its hideaway sliding doors became novelty among enthusiasts. Its initial price-tag of $3,668 was to much for the market and in total, only 435 cars were ever produced. This example has just come from 38 years of single ownership where it was carefully looked after and enjoyed. The vehicle is in excellent condition and will make a great addition to any collector looking for a rare and unique piece of automobile history.
