1959 Chevrolet Corvette

In 1935, Harley Earl design director for GM saw a special talent in one Bill Mitchell and gave him an opportunity in the Art and Color division. In December of 1958, he took over for Mr. Earl and embarked on a less flamboyant approach to style. In 1959, gone were the washboard hood and chrome rear deck spears but changes in the interior for better comfort and convenience. This was the first year for the T Handle reverse lockout feature and standardized 7,000 RPM Tachometer. This beautiful example features the 283CI 2x4 Barrel Carburetors, 4 Speed Transmission and factory hardtop.
